Belfield

Funeral Mass for Edith M. Wolf, 95, of Belfield will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Belfield with Fr. Shane Campbell celebrating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A rosary will be led at 12:30 p.m., a half hour before the service at the church.

Edith passed away peacefully at Hill Top Home of Comfort in Killdeer on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Edith was born in Belfield on December 13, 1928, the daughter of Frank and Barbara (Wagner) Ouelette. As a young girl, she spent a few years in the Belfield area before she moved to Montana with her family and finished school. Edith married Edwin Wolf on October 20, 1948 in Belfield. The couple moved to the Pete Eberts farm southeast of Belfield where they raised their three children and farmed until 1992. At that time, Edith and Edwin made the move to their final home in Belfield. Edith enjoyed farm life and getting through all of its challenges with faith and hope. She worked a few years at Trappers Kettle & Hotel in Belfield and she enjoyed cooking and gardening. Edith cherished her Adoration Holy Hour at St. Bernard’s parish for many years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  Edith will be remembered for her loving and caring spirit that persevered through many lifetime trials. She always cared for and lived by the mantra “there is good in everyone”.

Edith is survived by her daughters, Michele Hoff of Bismarck, Carla (Ed) Shypkoski of Dickinson; four grandchildren, Darik (Claire) Hoff of Seattle, WA, Dilan (Carra) Hoff of Plymouth, MN; Jared (Chelsea Jones) Shypkoski of Dickinson, Bryce (Amanda Fitzsimmons) Shypkoski of Dickinson; eight great-grandchildren, Harrison, Violet, Emrey, Abbie, Rayah, Edison, Ruby and Hemingway.

She preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Barbara Ouelette; husband, Edwin (2005); son, Daryl; sisters, Melrose Vokal and Betty Huschka.
