A funeral mass for Edmund “Ed” Pribyl, 96, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. , Monday, January 5, 2015 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Shannon Lucht celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Visitation for Ed will be from 1:00 p. m. to 3:00 p. m. , Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a rosary and vigil service being held at 3:00 p. m. Ed passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at CHI St. Joseph’s Health Center. Edmund A. Pribyl was born March 9, 1918, the son of Anton and Anna (Kudrna) Pribyl. He grew up and attended grade school at the old school by Scheeler’s Grocery, on the south side of Dickinson, and then went to farm school southwest of Radar Base Hill. Ed was married to Tillie Kralicek on June 3, 1940 at St. Wenceslaus Church. To this union three children were born: Elaine, Ellen and Esley “Butch”. Ed and Tillie raised their children on their farm near Manning until Tillie passed away on September 15, 1968. Later, Ed and Irma Binek-Boehler were united in marriage at St. Wenceslaus Church. Together, the couple resided at the farm near Manning until moving into Dickinson. Ed enjoyed farming and ranching, playing cards and dancing to old-time music. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren at family get-togethers. Ed was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Anthony Club and the Czech Heritage Social. Ed is survived by his son, Esley “Butch” Pribyl of Manning, ND; daughters, Elaine (Robert) Dvorak of Dickinson, ND and Ellen (Bob) Stout of Sacramento, CA; three grandchildren, Douglas (Sharon) Dvorak of Spring Hill, KS, Daryl (Kandice) Dvorak of Dickinson, ND and DeLori (Kelly) Baer of West Fargo, ND; five great-grandchildren, Arlet, Andrew and Alex Dvorak, and Kamden and Kasen Baer; sister, Martha Braun of Dickinson, ND; sisters-in-law, Maggie Pribyl and Lena Pribyl both of Dickinson, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Anna Pribyl; first wife, Tillie (Kralicek) Pribyl; second wife, Irma (Binek-Boehler) Pribyl; sisters, Viola Kadrmas and Carm Ficek; step-mother, Mary (Kostelecky) Pribyl; brothers, Louie and Larry Pribyl and brothers-in-law, Henry Kadrmas and Ernest Ficek.
