Edna Rohrbach

Funeral Services for Edna Rohrbach, 88, of Glen Ullin, ND, formerly of Eureka, SD will be at 1:00 p. m. CDT on Tuesday August 25, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Eureka, SD with Pastor Chris Walstad and Pastor Bob Duemig officiating. Burial will follow at the Eureka Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the United Methodist Church in Eureka. Edna was born on February 23, 1921 to Edward and Lydia (Schmidt) Beck on the family farm near Artas, SD. She attended country school and worked on the farm along with working for other families. On September 25, 1941, she married Edwin Rohrbach at Artas, SD. They made their home on a farm southwest of Artas from 1941 to 1979 when they retired and moved to Eureka, SD. After they retired they enjoyed spending their time traveling and visiting family. Edna spent her life working hard on the farm beside Edwin. She loved gardening, canning and cooking. She also designed and sewed doll clothes. During the winter months, she sewed clothes for her family, did alterations for others and made many beautiful quilts. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Women?s Group and served as a trustee. She also helped as a Sunday school teacher. Edna is survived by her three daughters, Mavis (James) Beskow, Watertown, SD; Linda (Lyle) Peltz, Glen Ullin, ND and Sharon (Larry) Lee, Bismarck, ND; along with three brothers, Ruben, Eureka, SD; Floyd (Gladys), Herreid, SD and Chester (Carol), Artas, SD, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, her parents and a sister, Esther Rohrbach.
