Mass of Christian Burial for Edward G. Kudrna, 70, of Dickinson is 1:00 p. m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church with Father Austin Vetter, celebrating. Interment will be in Killdeer Cemetery with Military Rites by the Ezra Barrows Post #46. Visitation is Tuesday from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel with rosary at 7:00 p. m. led by Ben Volesky. Edward passed away on Sunday, February 29, 2004 at Trinity Medical Center, Minot. Edward was born January 9, 1934 in Dickinson, ND to Steve and Molly (Kadrmas) Kudrna. He was raised and attended country schools in New Hradec and also the Model High School in Dickinson. In March of 1954, Edward enlisted in the US Army, serving during the Korean conflict and being honorably discharged in 1956. He returned to North Dakota and began farming south of Manning. On October 8, 1958, Edward married Martha E. Frank in Dickinson, ND. Together they farmed and raised their family. Along with farming, Ed did custom farm work and worked for Dunn County. In 1995, Edward semi-retired and moved to Dickinson. His love for the farm and crops continued until his death. Edward was a member of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Eagles Club, St. Anthony?s Club and St. Pius Verein. Edward enjoyed traveling; visiting family and friends, playing cards and the accordion along with jigsaw puzzles. Edward cherished his time spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchild. Edward is survived by his four daughters, Tammy (Russ) Kunkel, New Salem, ND, Jackie Solberg, Fargo, ND, Jody (Troy) Huber, Dickinson, ND, Twyla (Jeff) Karey, Manning, ND; three sons, Randy (Ronda), Manning, ND, Russ (Beth), Fergus Falls, MN, Gary (Rosa), Dickinson, ND; 19 grandchildren; one great grandchild; special friend, Lorraine Remsing, Dickinson, ND; three brothers, Andrew (Ginny) Kudrna, Jamestown, ND, Don (Betty) Kudrna, Stanley, ND, Glenn (Katrina) Kudrna, Billings, MT; two sisters, Verna (Laudie) Chorne, Bismarck, ND and Evelyn (Ben) Volesky, Dickinson, ND. Edward is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Martha and one infant daughter.
