Edward Scheeler

Funeral Mass for Edward C. Scheeler, 76, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. , Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Burial will be in the St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Dickinson, ND, later this spring. Visitation will be from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. , Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Rosary and Vigil service being said at 7:00 p. m. Edward passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident on December 20, 2010. Edward Carl Scheeler was born January 17, 1934 in Dickinson, the son of Joseph J. and Rose (Flink) Scheeler. As a young boy he grew up and attended country school in Stark County. Edward worked as a mechanic and attendant for Steiner Gas Station. He later worked at Badinger Sand and Gravel for several years. On July 9, 1956, Edward married Joyce Demaniow. To this union four children were born: Linda, Wayne, Loretta and Doug. Edward then began to work for Frank Kilwein Construction which later became Candee Construction where he worked until he retired. Edward enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a member of the Eagles Club and St. Joseph?s Catholic Church. Edward was never one to sit idle. He was always busy with projects, building a cabin at Lake Sakakawea and a pergola for the patio at his home. Edward lived each day to the fullest. His greatest love was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Scheeler of Dickinson; two sons, Wayne Scheeler of Dickinson and Doug (Michelle) Scheeler of Dickinson; two daughters, Linda (David) Dolyniuk of Houston, TX and Loretta Scheeler of Clearfield, UT; three brothers, Gilbert (Josephine) Scheeler of Dickinson, Ted (Georgia) Scheeler of Dickinson and Richard (Evie) Scheeler of Tuscon, AZ ; three sisters, Hanna Heidecker of Dickinson, Angie Heidecker of Dickinson and Lorraine (Joe) Heidecker of Dickinson; one sister-in-law, Ellen Scheeler of Miles City, MT and five grandchildren, Jennifer (Anthony) Ketley, Keri Dolyniuk, Casey (Mandi) Scheeler and Zach and Max Scheeler. Edward was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rose Scheeler; one brother, Ralph (Ray) Scheeler; one daughter-in-law Michele Scheeler and two brothers-in-law, Frank Heidecker and Willie Heidecker.
