A funeral service for Edwin Miller, 85, of Glen Ullin, will be 10:00 a. m. CDT, Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Hebron with Pastor David Ling officiating. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Cemetery, Hebron.
Visitation for Edwin will be from 5:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. CDT, Monday, October 7, 2013 at Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home, Glen Ullin with a prayer service being held at 7:00 p. m. CDT.
Edwin passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Marian Manor in Glen Ullin.
Edwin was born February 20, 1928 in Grant County, the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Miller. He grew up and attended country schools south of Glen Ullin. Edwin married Irene Heinle on August 6, 1950. To this union three children, Sharon, Donna, Sheila were born. Together the couple raised their family and farmed south of Glen Ullin. Irene passed away in 2008. Edwin enjoyed fishing, playing cards and visiting. He was a member of the Glen Ullin Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Edwin’s entire life was devoted to his family and farming.
Edwin is survived by his children; Sharon (Allen) Muggli of Sun City West, AZ, Donna (Chuck) Aune of Braddock, ND, and Sheila (Bruce) Schmautz of Glen Ullin; sisters, Ruth (Ray) Heinle of Hebron, Freda Anderson of Bismarck, Violet Heinle of MN, Cinderella ‘Cinda’ (Marvin) Lennick and Gloria (Tom) Schafer of Dickinson; grandchildren, Scott (Nicole Ryan-special friend) Muggli, Michael (Julie) Muggli, Mark (Bethany) Muggli, Tyler (Melissa) Schmautz, Andrew Schmautz; great-grandchildren, Dawson and Nolan; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Roth-Miller of Glen Ullin and Lorraine Heinle-Miller of Hazen.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; parents, Jacob and Elizabeth; sisters, Florence Heinle and Edna Heinle; brothers, Lester, Herbert, infant (Ben), Karl, and Ernest Miller.
A very warm and greatful thank-you to the nurses, caregivers and staff at the Marion Manor, especially unit 400 for the care and love they showed to our father.
