Elaine Ivanecky

Elaine V. Ivanecky, age 73, of Tucson, AZ, and formerly Hebron, died Sunday, January 22, 2006 at her residence in Tucson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Central Time on Monday, January 30, 2006 at St. John Church in Hebron, ND with the Rev. Martin Nussbaum officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Family visitation will be held on Monday after 9:30 AM at the St. John Church in Hebron, ND. Burial will be held in the St. John Cemetery in Hebron. Elaine was born on January 11, 1933 at Richardton, ND daughter of Carl and Martha Harmel Kuehn. She was the eldest of five children. Following the death of her mother, Elaine resided with her grandmother Mary Kuehn at Hebron, ND where she attended school. Summers were spent with Viola and Bill Hamman and family at Dickinson, ND. After graduating in 1951 from Hebron High School, Elaine married and farmed NW of Hebron. She enjoyed the farm, driving the grain truck and tractor. Elaine had farm projects to help the family income. Four children were born of this marriage. Elaine was an active member of St. Johns Church, the choir and the Ladies Guild. She started the activity booklet for each year. She was also active in helping with Hebron School activities and assisted with the Hebron Family 4H Club with her children. In 1975 Elaine, Melinda, and Ryan moved to Grand Forks, ND. Elaine entered the Real Estate market after obtaining her Real Estate License and later became an appraiser. The children attended school and graduated from the University while they lived in Grand Forks. In 1980, Elaine moved to Tucson, Arizona to warmer climate and Real Estate opportunities. She later became a care giver for Rincon Church. For the rest of her life she enjoyed working in her yard growing many varieties of flowers and cacti. She loved the mountain vista visible from her yard. Elaine had a love for music and played the piano and organ. Some of her hobbies were bridge, penny poker, and cooking. She traveled extensively visiting Europe, Russia, South American and Israel. She was a member of several RV clubs. A favorite past time was to drive her RV to planned destinations. She is survived by her step mother Esther Kuehn of Bismarck, ND, brother Melvin and Eloise Kuehn, Aitkin, MN, sister-in-law Karilyn Kuehn, Underwood, ND, sister Betty and Lynn Starck, New Salem, ND sister Beverly and Byron Zingg of McClusky, ND, daughter-in-law Eileen Hoerauf, Spokane, WA, son Kent and Shorty Hoerauf, Hettinger, ND, daughter Melinda and Tom Jaeger of Minnetonka, MN and son Ryan and Deanna Hoerauf, Odessa, Texas as well as all her grandchildren, great-grandson, nephews and nieces. Her smile and zest for life will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her mother Martha, father Carl, Brother Donald Kuehn, son David Hoerauf, grandson Bradley Hoerauf, niece Karen Zingg, and nephew Bruce Zingg.
