Funeral Services for Eleanor Faye Talkington, 81, of Ekalaka, MT will be 2:00 p. m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home of Ekalaka, MT with Pastor Wallace Fox officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Beaver Lodge Cemetery at Ekalaka. Visitation will be 4:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Wednesday July 2nd at Stevenson Funeral Home in Ekalaka with a Prayer service at 7:00 p. m. Eleanor went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Dahl Memorial Healthcare Nursing Home in Ekalaka, MT. Eleanor Faye Talkington was born a daughter of John Sam and Clara (Christman) Schweigert on January 22, 1927, at Baker, MT. Eleanor grew up at Plevna, MT where she attended Plevna school. In 1940, her family moved to Ekalaka where she graduated. Eleanor met Fallace Talkington, and the two were married in Miles City, MT in 1945. After their marriage Eleanor and Fallace lived out in the Beaver Flats area before moving to the Alzada community. In 1967, Eleanor moved back to Ekalaka where she raised her family and has made her home since. Eleanor enjoyed gardening and loved the compliments from everyone about how beautiful her flowers were; their compliments were often rewarded with a pack of flower seeds from Eleanor. Eleanor enjoyed watching the WWF on TV with her Grandson, Brandon. As a young lady, Eleanor began attending the Ekalaka Bible Church. Her greatest enjoyment in life was seeing all the little grand babies. She loved her grandchildren very much. Eleanor was also known as ?Gram? to many children who grew up in the Ekalaka community. Eleanor?s greatest advice she gave was ?If you would just listen, you might learn something?. Eleanor is survived by her children, Lindsay (Pat) Talkington, Chouteau, MT, Monte (Carol) Talkington, Belle Fourche, SD, Rhonda (Jerry) Peterson, Big Sandy, MT, Deborah (Ray) Mengel, Glendive, MT, Kathy Frye, Broadus, MT, Toni (Tom) Coons, Riverton, WY, Terri (Alan) Buck, Ekalaka, MT and Vicki (Bob) Cole, Riverton, WY; two sisters, Gloria Pruess, Ekalaka, MT and Carol (Paul) Hofeldt, Miles City, MT; two brothers, Whitey (Audrey) Schweigert, Ekalaka, MT and Charles (Arlene) Schweigert, Billings, MT; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Her parents, John and Clara, her son, Steven Talkington, three brothers, Ervin, Johnny and Donald; her sister, Virginia Gundlach and her special friend, Adolph Fix preceded her in death. The family requests memorials be made to Dahl Memorial Healthcare Nursing Home in Ekalaka, MT. Arrangements are under the care of Stevenson Funeral Home of Ekalaka, MT.
