Funeral Services for Eleanora Lapp, 89, of Hebron is 1:00 pm CDT, Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the First Congregational Church in Hebron with Pastor Marcy Dawson officiating. Burial will be in the Congregational Cemetery in Hebron. Visitation will be from 4:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. CDT, Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home in Hebron. Eleanora passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Knife River Care Center in Beulah, ND. Eleanora was born on May 19, 1921 the daughter of Fred and Lydia (Metzger) Kungel in Kulm, North Dakota. She moved with her family to the Hebron area were she began her schooling. At a young age Eleanora worked for area families helping with the house duties. Eleanora was married to John Edwin Lapp on December 3, 1944 in Hebron. As a young bride, she watched John go off to the service and complete his duty. After returning from the service they made Hebron their home where their two boys were born, Myron and Aaron. In 1950 they purchased the IGA grocery store which became Lapp?s Jack and Jill. After the sale of the Super Value store, John and Eleanora began Lapp?s Jack & Jill which they operated until 1976. Due to failing health Eleanora made her home at the Knife River Care Center in Beulah, North Dakota. Church was very important to Eleanora as she was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church of Hebron. She was also a founding member of the Guiding Light Women?s Group at the church. Eleanor enjoyed quilting for many years, she had given and sold hundreds of quilts around western North Dakota. Survivors include, two sons, Myron (Betty) Lapp, Hebron, ND and their children, Troy (Melinda) Lapp, Bismarck, ND and Tammy (Lanny) Lapp-Harris, Mandan, ND and Aaron (Cindy) Lapp, Beulah, ND and their children, Jennifer (Lance) Putnam, Seattle, WA and Lisa (Alberto) Vega, Mandan, ND; 10 great-grandchildren: John, Matthew, Jaylee, Addison, Chancellor, Nadia, Veronica, Felicia, Josh and Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wilmer Kungel and a sister Deloris Kitzen.
