Eleanore Opp

Funeral Services for Eleanore R. Opp, 81 of Hebron are 2:00 p. m. CDT, Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Hebron. Burial will follow at the First Congregational Cemetery, Hebron.


Visitation will be from 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. CDT, Monday, July 8, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Hebron with a Prayer Service taking place at 7:00 p. m. CDT. Visitation will continue from 1:00 to 2:00 p. m. Tuesday at the church.


Eleanore passed away on Friday, July 05, 2013, at the Marian Manor Health Care Center in Glen Ullin, ND.


Eleanore Ruth Lennick was born January 6, 1932, one of five siblings to Theodore and Lydia (Kroh) Lennick. She grew up in the Blue Grass area, attending school through the eighth grade. On May 11, 1952, Eleanore married Wilbert Opp in Hebron. To this union, three daughters, Rebecca, Patti and Robin were born. Eleanore was a homemaker and enjoyed flowers, attending church services and social gatherings. She could often be spotted around town in her trusty brown Lincoln, wearing her favorite leopard accessories. Eleanore enjoyed listening to gospel and country music, watching television and visiting with others. She was an excellent cook and baker. She had many beloved house cats over the years, her last pet was a black and white cat named Scarlett, who she loved dearly. Eleanore especially loved and enjoyed her grandchildren. Marian Manor became home for Eleanore in March 2013. Eleanore was a tough lady as she battled and overcame many health issues over the years. She was very strong in her faith and looked forward to being joyfully re-united with her little girl, Patti, who passed away at 22 ½ months from a heart defect.


Eleanore is survived by her two children; Rebecca (Stan) Sayler of Hebron and Robin Opp of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Millie (John) Holzer and Buffy Ustanko of Bismarck; one brother, Melvin (Les) Lennick of Center; one sister in law, Lynette Lennick of Mandan; two grandchildren, Amber (Cody) Staiger of Hebron and Ward Sayler of Bismarck; and two great-grandchildren, Cambri Staiger and Tucker Sayler.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Lydia; daughter, Patti; brother, Herb; nephew, Motze Holzer; and a brother in law, James Ustanko.
