Funeral Mass for Elinor Schneider, 86, of Glen Ullin, ND will be 10:30 a. m. (CDT) Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, With Father Arul Joseph Celebrating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Glen Ullin. Visitation for Elinor will take place from 5:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Monday, November 11, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with a Rosary and Vigil Service taking place at 7:00 p. m. (CDT). Elinor passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Marion Manor Health Center, Glen Ullin. Elinor Schaaf was born July 26, 1925 to Michael and Magdalena (Messer) Schaaf on the family farm near Glen Ullin. She grew up and attended the local Country grade school through the eighth grade. Throughout the remainder of her life, Elinor lived in and around the Glen Ullin area. She was very proud of her community and was reluctant to get too far away from home. Elinor worked at the Marion Manor Health Center for fourteen years. After retiring, she utilized her previous work experience and cared for her mother, Magdalena in their home until her death. She was known as a very stylish woman and always dressed up for special occasions. Elinor?s nieces and nephews were very special to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. She was also a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin. Elinor is survived by her brother James (Marianne) Schaaf of Glen Ullin; sister, Jeannine Simon of Waterloo, IA; sister-in-law, Clara Schaaf of Glen Ullin; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Stewart; three brothers, Math, Michael V. and John Schaaf; five sisters, Cecilia Weber, Elizabeth Kolander, Ann Dupuis, Agnes Barth, Orva Elaine Schaaf.
