Betty Reilly was born July 9, 1915 to Emmanuel and Elizabeth (Roth) Wanner in Hirshville, ND. She grew up and attended the Wild Rose country school and was baptized at the St. Philip?s Church in Hirshville, ND. Betty worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Dickinson for several years before moving to MN, where she joined the Holy Cross nuns in Wisconsin. Her father passed away after a short illness and she came home and never returned. Betty began work taking care of Lizzy Wieglenda who was confined to a wheelchair. While doing so, she met her future husband John Wieglenda. They were married in 1950. He passed away in 1957 of a sudden heart attack. In 1963, she was married to Frank Reilly. They continued to make the Wieglenda Ranch their home along with operating the Reilly Grocery Store in Gladstone. After the death of Frank in 1970 she remained on the Wieglenda Ranch until she was 85 years old. Betty then ?retired? and moved into Dickinson where she lived at the Villard Terrance. Due to failing health she made her home at the St. Benedict?s Health Center. She took pride and worked very hard at her garden. Betty was a member of K?Cetts, Gladstone Senior Citizens and the R. S. V. P. She also enjoyed playing cards and baking strudel. She grew especially close to her two granddaughters, Erin and Heidi, who also lived with her on the Ranch.
