A Funeral Mass for Elizabeth Rohr, 94, of Dickinson, will be 10:30 a. m. , Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Lefor, ND, with Father Biju Chitteth celebrating. Burial will follow St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery in Lefor.
Visitation for Elizabeth will be 3:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. , Friday, February 15, 2013 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 5:00 p. m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Funeral Mass at the church on Saturday.
Elizabeth passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.
Elizabeth Krug was born July 8, 1918 in Gladstone, ND, the daughter of Mike and Mary (Gillenberg) Krug. She grew up and attended school in Taylor, also participated in the Taylor Band. After school, Elizabeth stayed busy working on the family farm near the Hirschville area. She met the neighbor boy, George Rohr, and on October 17, 1939 they were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richardton. The couple farmed north of Gladstone, later moving to Killdeer where they operated Sanitary Dairy. In 1947, they moved to Regent where they owned and operated the Regent Bar and then farmed in the area. In 1964, they moved to Lefor to operate a dairy farm and manage the Lefor KC Hall. After George passed away in 1995, Liz moved to Dickinson and made her home at Villard Terrace. Elizabeth was a kind and generous lady. She will be remembered for her big heart. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting, playing cards, gardening, music and playing the organ. Spending time with the family was important to her, especially her grandchildren. Elizabeth was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church of Lefor, the church choir and a lifetime member of the Christian Mothers.
Elizabeth is survived by her children: Harry (Theckla) Rohr of Mott, Mary Beth (Eugene) Kuntz of Elgin, Georglynn (Rodney) Kuntz of Henderson, NV, David (Eva) Rohr of Jamestown, Terrance (Eileen) Rohr of Dickinson, Norene (special friend, Greg Maier) Heidt of Bismarck, Mike (Colleen) Rohr of Dickinson; 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Elenore Honeyman of Hettinger and Frances (Fred) Marshall of Yakima, WA; brothers, Mike (Evelyn) Krug of Wahpeton, ND, and Joe (Jan) Krug of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; daughter-in-law, Marlys; siblings, Mary Meyer, Nick, John, and Louie Krug; one grandson and two great grandsons.
