Elizabeth grew up on her parent?s farm where she attended South Center Elementary School not far from the Marciniak farm. At 13 her mother passed away. When she graduated from the 8th grade she spent the summer taking care of the house and learning to cook and bake. These skills stayed with her throughout her life. Following graduation from Wibaux High School she worked in Glendive cleaning rooms at the Jordan Hotel then later working for the Purity Dairy in Glendive and Miles City. Elizabeth was united in marriage to Edward Joseph Susa on June 7, 1945 at St. Phillips Catholic Church, rural Wibaux, Montana. They were blessed with 5 children: Rose Marie, Wayne, Leona, Dorothy and Eddy. Following their marriage, Elizabeth and Ed lived in the rural Golva, North Dakota area for 2 years before moving into Golva where Elizabeth operated and managed two separate restaurants until 1957 when the family moved to Baker, Montana where Ed started his construction company. Elizabeth kept busy raising her family, doing seamstress work and created beautiful decorated cakes for many occasions. During the holidays she would make matching dresses for her and the 3 girls as well as matching shirts for Ed and the 2 boys. As time went on her fondest time was being reunited with her refurbished ?first? Singer sewing machine. In the mid 1960?s Elizabeth and Ed opened The Loft Supper Club, which she worked and managed until her retirement in the mid 1990?s. Elizabeth was a devout Catholic and a member of St. John?s Catholic Church in Baker. She was a member of St. John?s Alter Society, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She traveled to Fatima, Medjugorje, Lourdes and Rome and was very devoted to Our Lady of Fatima and the Divine Mercy. Elizabeth and Ed enjoyed other trips and cruises over the years. Ed passed away in 1993. After her diagnosis of cancer in 2010, Elizabeth participated in the local Relay for Life. Throughout her life, Elizabeth enjoyed her family. It was through their care that she continued to live in her home where she kept many fond memories. She was blessed to have her son, Eddy and his family close by to give her a hand when needed.
