Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth Wandler, 89, of Dickinson, is Wednesday, April 16, 2003; 2:00 p. m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Dennis Schafer, celebrating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday from 11:00 a. m. to 1:30 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, 2:00 p. m. to 3:00 p. m. at St. Benedict's Health Center continuing from 3:30 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a rosary at 7:30 p. m. followed by a wake service at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel.
Elizabeth passed away on Monday, April 14, 2003, at St. Benedict's Health Center.
Elizabeth was born February 12, 1914, in Dickinson, ND to Steve and Rose (Mutz) Barth. She was raised in New England and Regent, North Dakota. On April 1, 1940, she married John Wandler in St. Pius Catholic Church, Schefield, ND. Together the couple made their home in Schefield until moving to Dickinson in 1945. Betty was devoted to her home and children and kept her busy in painting outside the home. She was a member of German Hungarian Club-Dickinson, St. Pius Verein-Schefield.
Elizabeth is survived by her three daughters, Rita (Arnold) Reisenauer, Beverly Fettig, and Susan (Kelvin) Splichal, all of Dickinson; two step-daughters, Arilda (Robert) McMillan of Helena, MT, Cecilia (Richard) Koppinger of Dickinson; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Joe Barth of Dickinson; one step-brother, Donald Barth of Spokane, WA; six step-sisters, Katherine Schroeder of Sturgis, SD; Alvina Skogan of Texas, Leona (LeRoy) Finck of Bowman, ND, Mary Brotherton of Tacoma, WA, Darlene Barth of Santa Barbara, CA and Helen Voshall of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wandler, parents, one son, James Wandler, two sister, Eva Moe, Francis Ertle, and one step-sister, Rose Zimmerman.
