A funeral Mass for Elizabeth “Betty” Zent, 87, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 20, 2017 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Kregg Hochhalter celebrating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.


Visitation for Betty will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 4:00 p.m.


Betty passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at her home in Dickinson with her family by her side.


Elizabeth “Betty” Binstock was born June 26, 1930 in Daglum, ND, the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Praus) Binstock. She grew up on the family farm near Daglum and attended country school near her home. After the family moved to Dickinson, Betty began working for a café before being employed with Fried’s Grocery Store. It was during this time that she met Marcus “Max” Zent. On July 24, 1951, the couple was united in marriage at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Betty and Max were blessed with one son, Dennis and the family made their home in Dickinson. In later years, Betty worked at Greene Drug and Weckers Drug before spending 10 summers working for her niece, Ronda at McKenzie Bay. She treasured the time that she able to spend with her.


Betty enjoyed spending time outside working in her flower bed and garden as well as baking. She always kept busy working on crafts and loved to crochet & work on embroidery projects. Her family and friends were fortunate to be the recipients of her talents. Betty looked forward to playing cards and going for coffee with the girls at the Paragon. She cherished time spent with her family and will be missed by all who knew her.


Betty is survived by her brothers, Clarence Binstock of Dickinson, Ronald (Kathy) Binstock of Elkhorn, WI, Jerry (Judy) Binstock of Bismarck, and Mel (Patty Seibel) Binstock of Bismarck; sisters, Clara Steier of Dickinson, Monica Barta of Gillette, WY, Frances Dukart of Dickinson, and Gladys (Bill Bunderson) Kudrna of Black River Falls, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Katherine Binstock; husband, Marcus “Max” Zent; son, Dennis Zent; four brothers-in-law, Leonard Kudrna, Lud Dukart, Clarence Barta and Frank Steier; and one sister-in-law, Betty Binstock.
