Funeral Mass for Elmo Fiebiger, 83, of Bismarck, formerly of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. , Friday, December 16, 2005 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Dickinson, with Father Austin Vetter celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick?s Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be Thursday, December 15, 2005 from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Elmo passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at the St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. Elmo was born April 19, 1922 on the family farm near Dunn Center, ND, the son of Edward and Clara (Straus) Fiebiger. He grew up and attended the Renville School #3 and graduated from the Dunn Center High School in 1940. Elmo farmed in the Dunn Center area for many years before retiring in 1973. He moved to Dickinson and began his 18 year career as a ?funeral director assistant? where he will long be remembered as the ?Chairman of the Board?. In his earlier years, Elmo was a pilot and would assist area farmers in receiving their mail. He would pick up the mail bags and drop them out of the plane as he flew over. He also was a pilot instructor in Minnesota for several years. Elmo enjoyed elk hunting in Idaho for many years. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks and the German Hungarian Club. Elmo loved to visit and always had a kind word and a genuine smile for everyone. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. ?The torch has been passed. ?Survivors include a sister, Ione Belden of Bismarck, ND and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Quinten Fiebiger and a sister, Cleta Holt.
