A Funeral Mass for Elsie H. Dvorak, 95, of Dickinson, will be 9:30 a.m. , Thursday, September 26, 2013 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Kregg Hochhalter celebrating. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in New Hradec.


Visitation for Elsie will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p m. , Wednesday, September 25th at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 7:00 p.m.


Elsie passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.


Elsie was born May 26, 1918 on the family farm north of Dickinson, the daughter of Anton and Philomena (Pribyl) Marsh. She grew up and attended country school near the farm. In 1943, Elsie was married to William A. Dvorak in New Hradec. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Bertilla and Rosemarie. The family farmed in the New Hradec area before moving to Dickinson. In 2003, she moved to Evergreen until she entered St. Benedict’s in 2013. Elsie enjoyed volunteering her time at the ARC Aid Thrift Store, the Dickinson Catholic Schools, and the Museum Center. She also loved spending time sewing, gardening, creating various crafts and volunteering where ever she could help others. Elsie was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Rosary Society.


Elsie is survived by her daughters, Bertilla “Tish” (Dwayne) Haas of Dickinson and Sister Rosemarie Dvorak SSND of St. Leo, MN; sisters-in-law, Martha and Frances Marsh of Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; sisters, Hattie (Joe) Adamski and Dorothy (George) Dvorak; brothers, Charles (Eleanor) Marsh, George Marsh, Richard Marsh; and five infant siblings.
