A funeral service for Elsie Jacobs, 72, of Richardton, will be 10:00 a. m. Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Burial will take place in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND. Visitation for Elsie will be 1:00 p. m. – 6:00 p. m. , Wednesday, March 19th at the funeral home. Elsie passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 surrounded by her children in Richland, WA. She had been fighting Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for nearly three years. Elsie was the 8th of 13 children born to Christian and Anna (Schlaht) Wolf on May 12, 1941 in Regent, North Dakota. She attended country school near Regent until the 8th grade and worked on the family farm until she married Pete Jacobs on May 20, 1962 in Chico, California. Pete and Elsie returned to North Dakota and purchased a dairy farm south of Richardton where they made their home, farmed, and raised their four children. Elsie enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved spending hours in her garden during the summer. She also took pride in cooking and baking as well as sewing. Pete and Elsie retired from dairy farming in 2001. Elsie is survived by her children, Darryl (Melinda) Jacobs, Cabot, AR, Kenneth (Lorrie) Jacobs Woodward, OK, and Jenifer (Corey) Waite, Richland, WA; nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild; siblings Harold, Jake, Ernie, Dorothy, Helen, Lorraine, Gary, and Alice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete and her son, David; siblings Willie, John, Marvin, and Leota; and her parents, Christian and Anna.
