Funeral Mass for Elsie Krank, 81, Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. , Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Father Todd Kreitinger celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Pius Cemetery. Visitation for Elsie will be from 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. , Monday, June 13, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Vigil Service and Time of Sharing being held at 7:00 p. m. Elsie passed away gracefully into the arms of her savior on Thursday, June 9, 2011. Elsie Marie Hauck the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Dauenhauer) Hauck was born March 18, 1930, north of Taylor, ND. As a young woman, Elsie enjoyed working at the Halliday Hotel, Greene Drug and the bookstore owned by her parents? in Dickinson. On August 31, 1948, Elsie and Martin Krank were married at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple made their home on the farm where they enjoyed going to the Wild Rose Club. In 1958, Elsie and Martin moved to Dickinson. Together they raised their family of seven children. Elsie enjoyed her time at home raising her children. In the mid 1970?s, Elsie worked at Woolworth?s until it?s closing in the 1980?s. Elsie loved family celebrations and cooking for her family. She has left many family favorite recipes to be shared by all. Elsie enjoyed bowling in her earlier years, caring for her garden and dancing. She also sewed many of her children?s clothes. She recently joined St. Pius Club as a social member. Elsie is survived by her husband Martin of over 60 years; children, Reyne (Dennis) Buchholz, Portsmouth, VA; Bruce (Nancy Henning) Krank, Dickinson; Sheila (Leslie) Froehlich, Mandan; Tom Krank, Dickinson; and Scott (Wendy) Krank, Casselton; daughter-in-law, Shirley (Dave) Palmer, Green River, WY; son-in-law, Alan Alpert, Dickinson; siblings, Herman (Dorothy) Hauck, MT, Agnes (Cal) Hafner, MT, Francis (Vivian) Hauck, TX, Ed (Barbara) Hauck, OK, Virginia Fox, MN and Karen (Vince) Decker, MN; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
