Elvera passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Sanford Health in Bismarck.
Elvera was born August 31, 1936, in Mott, the daughter of Frank and Laura (Bauder) Pekas. She grew up and attended school in Mott. As a child her family gave her the nickname Teeny. When her youngest sister LaVerne began talking she couldn't say Teeny and Elvera's nickname became "Tinee." After high school, she married Reinhardt Gruebele on June 20, 1954 in Mott. The couple made their home on the family farm for six years. They were blessed with two daughters, Tamera & Marcy. Elvera and Reiny moved to Bismarck for a short time before making their home in Glen Ullin, where Reiny owned and operated Reiny’s Body Shop. Elvera enjoyed doing ceramics and crafts, traveling in their motorhome across the country, walking her two miles every day and playing piano. In 1970, after both girls were in school, Elvera started to work at Marian Manor doing various jobs, such as CNA, Med Aide and Ward Clerk. She began working at Glen Ullin Drug where she received on the job training as a Pharmacy Technician. She received her ND State Pharmacy Technician license in 1995. Elvera worked at Glen Ullin Drug for almost 35 years, until she entered Marian Manor in 2011 due to a stroke. She moved to Dakota Alpha in Mandan in 2019 where she lived until her death. Elvera will be remembered for her spunk, and pharmaceutical knowledge. The family would like to thank Marian Manor, and Dakota Alpha for caring for Elvera, and all her ways.
