Mass of Christian Burial for Emma Decker-Herman, 97, of Dickinson will be 10 a. m. Saturday, July 12 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-9 p. m. Friday, July 11, at Stevenson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p. m. led by Deacon Al Schwindt. Emma passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the Evergreen Home in Dickinson, ND. Emma was born December 3, 1910 the daughter of Stephan and Agnes (Simek) Kostolecky. She married Christ Decker and to this union three children were born: Donald C. , Darlene, and Mary Kay. She lived her entire life in Dickinson, ND farming east of town. She loved crocheting and bowling. She was famous with her grandkids for the ?kolaches? she made. She also made Rosary?s and gave them to her many friends. In 1979 Emma married Donald Herman and they continued to make their home on the family farm. Emma was a long time member of St. Joseph Church and the Catholic Daughters and a charter member of St. Ann?s Altar Society. Emma will be remembered for her devotion to her family and friends, her generous spirit and her amazing appreciation of life. She was a faith filled woman. Emma is survived by her two children; Donald C. (Marge) Decker, Dickinson, ND and Darlene (Ken) McConnell, Port Ludlow, WA; grandchildren; Mickie Decker, Kris (Bill Morgan) Decker; Roberta(Jeff) Maher; John Decker, Chris (Aileen) McConnell, Tom (Leslie) Laird-McConnell, John(Virginia) McConnell; Mark (Meagan) McConnell; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Frank and sister Frances Ridl. All were a source of great joy to her. She is preceded in death by: her parents; husbands, Chris Decker and Don Herman; a daughter, Mary Kay (2 1/2 yrs. ); brothers, Joe, Wenzel, Steve, Laudie, Eddie Kostolecky; sisters, Victoria, Minnie and Mary. Memorials may be made to the St. Ann?s Altar Society or charity of your choice.
