A funeral service for Emma Hinshaw, 92, of Dickinson will be 1:00 p. m. , Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with Pastor Karen Dvirnak officiating. Burial will take place in Werner Cemetery. Visitation for Emma will be from 3:00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m. , Tuesday, July 19 at Stevenson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 a. m. to 1:00 p. m. Emma passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius Health – Dickinson. Emma Fandrich was born March 8, 1924 north of Golden Valley, ND, the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Mueller) Fandrich. She grew up and attended country grade school near the family farm. Emma went to work on the Gustafson Ranch. It was during this time that she met Glenn Hinshaw and the two were married on September 18, 1953 in Manning, ND. The couple moved to Bismarck while Emma worked at Vi’s Café for a few years. In 1956 they moved to the farm near Halliday. It was there where they made their home and raised their three daughters. Emma was a hard worker and could often be found working side by side with Glenn on the farm. Emma and Glenn retired to Dickinson in 1989 and have made their home there ever since. Emma enjoyed gardening, quilting, and embroidering. She also enjoyed going fishing. Emma’s special time was that spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her daughter Mary (Gary) Lukach, Dickinson, ND; Sharon (Melvin) Schuh, Killdeer, ND; grandchildren, Jen (Scott) Buckman; Chris (Randi Spradley) Schuh; Katie (Ryan) Inman; Nathan Monette; great-grandchildren, Camren and Lillie Buckman; sisters, Irene Mjolhus, Dunn Center; Wilma Kling, Killdeer, ND; son-in-law, Mark (Olivia) Monette, Lubbock, TX; two sisters-in-law, Bobbi Fandrich and Liz Fandrich; and numerous nieces and nephews. Emma was preceded in death by both of her parents, husband, Glenn; daughter, Audrey Monette; granddaughter, Cheryl Schuh; sister, Alma Reeb; and three brothers, Ewald, Emil and Norman.
