Funeral Mass for Emma Muth, 90, of Dickinson will be 10:00 am Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church with Rev. Todd Kreitinger celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Patrick?s Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be Monday, August 3, 2009 from 11: 00 am to 9:00 pm at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Rosary and Vigil being held at 8:00 p. m. at the chapel. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, from 8:00 a. m. to 9:00 a. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home. Emma passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. Emma was born on January 3, 1919 to Anton and Magdalina (Berger) Kary in Fayette, ND. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. After school she worked at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Dickinson. On June 12, 1939 she married Frank Muth at St. Edward?s Catholic Church in Fayette, ND. The couple farmed in the Fayette area until the early forty?s at which time they purchased a farm Southeast of Dickinson near the Muth Homestead. In 1950, Emma and Frank moved to Dickinson and spent the rest of their lives there. Emma was an Avon representative for over 40 years. She loved any color, as long as it was ?Pink?! She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting and sewing. Emma was a member of St. Patrick?s Church, Church Choir at Queen of Peace, Homemaker?s Club and the Bridge Club. Emma is survived by her sons: Dennis (Linda) Muth, Missoula, MT, Franklin (Alicia) Muth, Missoula, MT and Aaron (Cathy) Muth, Lake Oswego, OR; daughters: Cheryl (Ken) Grossman, Dickinson, ND and Emeline (Brent) Burkett, Jamestown, ND; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bridget (Steve) Schwindt, Dickinson, ND and Catherine Murphy, Sutherlin, OR. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, brothers, Mike Kary and Valentine Kary, and sisters: Barbara Schwindt, Beatrice Hienert, Elizabeth Hutmacher, Rose Nicklin, Ann Bahmer and Monica Tooley.
