Mass of Christian Burial for Emma L. Pavlicek, 89, of Dickinson is 10:00 a. m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Jim Braaten, celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in New Hradec. Visitation is Monday from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a rosary and vigil service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Emma passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital & Health Center in Dickinson. Emma was born on July 28, 1914 in Dunn County, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Hanel. She grew up and attended country schools in Dunn County. Emma was married to Anton J. Pavlicek on November 27, 1945 in the St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec. Together they farmed until moving into New Hradec. In 1959, they moved to Dunn Center where they raised their family. In 1974, Emma and Anton moved to Dickinson where Emma has made her home since. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Society and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Emma enjoyed playing cards and dominos and listening and dancing to old time music as well as watching TV and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include, six sons: Edwin (Marvel) Pavlicek, Andrew (Shirley) Pavlicek, George (Judy) Pavlicek, Albert (Debbie) Pavlicek, Leonard (Marlene) Pavlicek all of Dickinson and Charles (Annette) Pavlicek of Linton, ND; a brother, Laudie Hanel, Dickinson; a sister, Dorothy Schneider, Everett, WA; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anton, a son, Gary; a grandson, Anthony; a brother, Frank Hanel and two sisters; Rose Kadrmas and Margaret Tuhy.
