Funeral Mass for Emma Sadowsky, 93, of Dickinson, will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Bill Ruelle celebrating. Entombment will follow at the Dickinson Mausoleum.
Visitation for Emma will be 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 14, 2022 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 6:00 p.m.
Emma passed away February 9, 2022 at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson.
Emma Rose was born August 18, 1928 in Stark County, the daughter of Anton and Emilie (Kostelecky) Splichal. Growing up, she attended country school and (school) through the tenth grade. On November 5, 1947, Emma married Richard Sadowsky in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. They lived in Dickinson for a year before moving to their farm north of town. It was there where they raised their six children, Kerry, Rick, Karen, Audrey, Debbie and Jackie. Emma was a devoted homemaker and farmwife. She and Richard retired from farming in 1995, at which time they moved to Dickinson.
Emma enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a part of the Czech Heritage Club, Catholic Daughters Quilting Club, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She cherished gatherings and time spent with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her homemade chicken noodle soup, kolaches, and rolicky.
Emma will be forever loved and dearly missed.
Emma is survived by her daughters, Karen Goehring of Garrison, Audrey (Terry) Morey of Dickinson, Debbie (Chad) Stroh of Mandan, Jackie Knutson of Oceanside, CA; sons, Kerry of Perley, MN and Rick (Laura Conrad) of Urbandale, IA; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; siblings Jim Splichal of Dickinson and Aggie (Joe) Wandler of Hettinger.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Emilie Splichal; husband, Richard; brothers William, Toney, Joe, Vince, Steve, and George; sisters Mary, Dorothy and Lillian; son-in-law, Stan Goehring; daughter-in-law, Linda Sadowsky.
