Erma passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2020, at St. Benedict’s Nursing Home in Dickinson.

Ermine (Erma) Weiand was born on April 17, 1927 in Oliver County, the daughter of Nicolaus and Helen (Martin) Weiand. She grew up on the family farm SE of Beulah, attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated from Glen Ullin High School. Erma married Edward Mosbrucker on September 16, 1946 in Glen Ullin, where they made their first home with Dennis and Karen, before moving to Velva, where they had Rhonda and Lois. In 1963, shortly after Lori was born, they moved to Dickinson.

Erma was a devoted homemaker, an extremely gifted seamstress, and made the best German noodles, caramel rolls, and donuts in the world. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, fishing, and loved flowers of any kind. But nothing made her smile more than when she was dancing… Erma and Eddy could fascinate any crowd with their magical jitter-bugs, waltzes and polkas!

Erma’s Catholic faith was very important to her and she assembled many thousands of rosaries which were given to charities.

Erma is survived by her five children, Dennis (Edie) Mosbrucker of St. Cloud, MN; Karen (Byron) Wertz of St. Paul, MN; Rhonda (Ken) Dukart of Dickinson; Lois Mosbrucker of Dickinson; and Lori (Tom) Leutz of Bismarck; her eight grandchildren, Taunya (Joel) Schleicher, Danielle (Shawn) Kudrna, Eric (Katie) Dukart, Jill Dukart, Joey (Ellen) Wertz, Allison (Jim) Gunther, Weston Leutz, and Dylan Leutz; her nine great-grandchildren, Derek and Ben Schleicher, Caleb and Kenzie Kudrna, Joey, Bella and Charlie Dukart, Axel Gunther, and Eddie Wertz; her brother, Glenn Weiand of Grafton; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Erma was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Eddy; parents, Nicolaus and Helen Weiand; sisters, Leona Morman and Mitzi Streitmatter; and infant siblings, Rachel, Kenneth and Lester.
