Ernest P. Focht, 90, Taylor, died Saturday, October 21, 2006, at the Richardton Health Center, Richardton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Gladstone with Fr. Boniface Muggli, celebrating. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Gladstone. Visitation will be Monday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home from 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. Monday with a rosary and prayer service at 7:30 p. m. led by Fr. Boniface Muggli, OSB. Ernest Focht was born on October 20, 1916, at home to George and Anna (Arnold) Focht. He attended Gladstone school and went on to pursue other activities. He worked at different jobs for the Civilian Conservation Corps, and the Works Progress Administration. He also spent some time in the west coast picking apples for four cents a box. He returned to North Dakota and married Eva Martin on June 10, 1940. They rented a farm one and a half miles south of Gladstone. Two years later they moved to a farm northwest of Taylor where they lived for 63 years. Ernest enjoyed the time spent with friends and relatives, making sausage, fishing, playing cards, visiting and dancing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Club in Gladstone. He is survived by: his wife, Eva, Richardton Health Center, Richardton; two sons, Eugene (Margie), Hebron, and Ron (Doris), Billings, MT. ; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jacob, Dickinson, Frank, Frederickstown, OH, Walter and Victor, Beaverton, OR; three sisters, Helen Merritt, St. Louis, MO. , Hilda Glasgow, Portland, OR. , and Martha Rahm, Tuscon, AZ. He was preceded in death by: his parents, three sisters, Theresa Focht, Mary Gotterbarm and Kathryn Kary, and one brother, Anton Focht.
