Ervin Barth

A Funeral Mass for Ervin “Erv” Barth, 69, of Dickinson, will be 9:00 a. m. , Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Shannon Lucht celebrating. Entombment will follow in the Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation for Erv will be from 3:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. , Monday, November 30, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary & vigil service being held at 6:30 p. m. Erv passed away with his family by his side, Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson. Ervin Barth was born May 18, 1946 in Richardton, ND, the son of Willie and Magdalen (Frank) Barth. He grew up and attended school in Mott thru the 8th grade. The family moved to Dickinson where Erv attended and graduated from high school. He went on to attend Dakota Business College in Fargo for two years before returning to Dickinson. Erv then began his career working for the Dickinson Press; retiring in 2001 after 30 years. Erv and Paulette Huck were united in marriage on June 10, 1972. To this union three daughters were born: Laurie, Sheri, and Jodi. Erv was a friendly man. He loved visiting and meeting new people. Erv was involved with the Chamber of Commerce over the years. He enjoyed working on old cars, gardening, having coffee with his buddies, grilling, bar-b-ques, and cooking with his family. Spending time with his grandchildren brought him tremendous joy. Erv is survived by his wife, Paulette of Dickinson; daughters, Laurie (LeRoy) Jacob of Lincoln, Sheri (Rob Cabral) Barth of Dickinson, and Jodi Barth of Dickinson; four grandchildren, Heather Cabral, RyLand, Gabriellah and Jhace Jacob; brothers, Edwin (Patricia) Barth of Beulah, and Mel (Lucy) Barth of Bismarck; sister, Elaine Little of Bismarck; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
