Funeral Services for Erwin W. Weisz, 74, of Killdeer, will be 10:00 a. m. Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the Killdeer High School Gymnasium with Pastor Annen Gjovik officiating. Burial will follow in the Killdeer Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8, 2006 from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Killdeer, ND. Erwin passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson, ND. Erwin W. Weisz was born August 26, 1931 to Theophil and Christina (Entzel) Weisz on the family farm north of Dodge, ND. He grew up and attended Mercer County Schools as well as helping on the family farm. On July 15, 1952, Erwin married Edna Miller in Halliday, ND. The couple made their home on the family farm and began their family to which they were blessed with four children. In 1965 the family moved to Halliday, ND and then later to Dickinson where Erwin worked as a carpenter for Carlson Construction. The family eventually moved to Killdeer in 1972 and has made their home there ever since. Erwin worked as a custodian for the Killdeer Public Schools for over 30 year as well as taking care of custodial duties at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Killdeer. Erwin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren at the family cabin near Skunk Bay. He enjoyed playing penny slots and always had dollars ready to hand out to the grandkids. Erwin loved to play the accordion and was a member of the ?Otto Voegele and the Valley Troopers? band. The band played at dances, weddings and anniversaries for over 50 years. Erwin is survived by his wife, Edna of Killdeer; three sons, James Weisz of Fargo, ND; Daryl (Carol) Weisz of Melstone, MT; DeLon Weisz of Bismarck, ND; a daughter, Michelle (Gary) Oversen of Killdeer, ND; two sisters-in-law, Doris Borth of Thermopolis, WY; Darlene Weisz of Ankeny, IA; thirteen grandchildren: Shari, Jamie, Amanda (fianc?, Keith), Kylie, Kale, Lane, Shyanne, Caree, Britnee, Daniel, Brett, Kayla, Adam, one great-grandchild on the way; and two former daughters-in-law, Bonnie Weisz of Mandan, ND; and Karen Weisz of Bismarck, ND. He was preceded by his parents, a brother, Hilmer Weisz and an infant brother, Raymond.
