The Funeral Service for Esther Hartse, 82, of Baker, Montana is 10:00 a. m. Friday, July 28, 2006 at the Assembly of God Church in Baker with Pastor Danny Winter officiating. Burial will follow in Bonnivale Cemetery in Baker. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 27, 2006 from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. , with a prayer service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson Mischel-Olson Chapel, Baker. Esther Viola Hartse was born December 24, 1923 to William and Cora (Pederson) Thompson in Noonan, North Dakota. She grew up and attended schools in Noonan where she graduated High School. She then attended North Centeral Bible School in Minneapolis, MN. She later moved to Rapid City, SD with her family. In 1949, Esther moved to Baker, Montana where she worked as a waitress. She loved to be able to serve others and was passionate about her job. Esther met and married Billy Geving in Baker in 1950. To this union, three children were born: Barbara, Keith and John. The family made their home in the Plevna area. On January 22, 1977, she was married to Marion Hartse. To this family, four daughters were added: Lucille, Marilyn, Ellen, and Roberta. Esther worked in the US Post office for twelve years as a clerk. In 1983, Esther co-founded M & H Tire with Marion and her son, John. She worked as a bookkeeper for several years. She loved her church where she taught Sunday School, and was a sectional representative for the Women?s Ministries for seven years. She loved to crochet, and all of her grandchildren received beautiful afghans. Esther enjoyed ceramics as well as cooking and having all of her family at the dinner table. She took pleasure in traveling with Marion and seeing the country. Esther also sold Avon and earned many awards in her venture. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Pink Ladies. After Esther was saved, her motto was: ?Am I Pleasing Jesus?. She led a full life and someday she would like to meet everyone around the Throne of God. Survivors include: her husband, Marion, Baker, MT; one son: John (DeeDee) Geving, Baker, MT; five daughters: Barbara (Butch) Roberts, Wibaux, MT; Lucille (Donald) Brown, Greenwich, CT; Marilyn (Robert) Boone, Sapulpa, OK; Ellen Dailey, Houston, TX; and Roberta (Matthew) Peake, Broken Arrow, OK; one brother: Carl (Ann) Thompson, Choctaw, OK; four sisters: Adeline (Kenny) Johnson, Billings, MT; Violet Lawless, Rapid City, SD; Cathy (Walt) McDougall, Wyola, MT; and Joanne (Tommy) Handley, Rapid City, SD; one sister-in-law: Alta Thompson, Rapid City, SD; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Keith Geving and Jerald Creaser; two brothers Larry and Kenny Thompson; two sisters: Jennette Deaver and Carrie Lois Anschutzs.
