Funeral services for Esther Huber-Gauthier, age 84, of Billings, formerly of Plevna, are 11:00 a. m. on Thursday, April 29, 2004, at Stevenson Funeral Home, Baker with Pastor Stephen May and Pastor Howard Haar, officiating. Interment will in Plevna Community Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Baker with a Prayer service at 7:00 p. m. Esther entered heaven on Sunday, April 25, 2004 at St. John?s Nursing Home, Billings, MT due to complications from a stroke. Esther was born on October 18, 1919, the daughter of John and Magdalena (Lang) Haar in Bowdle, SD. Magdalena passed away when Esther was very young. Her father, John then married Katherine Zeeb Seidel. The family consisted of eleven children and they remained very family oriented and forever close knit. On November 30, 1939 Esther married Christian Huber in Bowdle, SD. Together they moved to a farm south of Baker, MT. After farming and ranching for many years they moved to Baker. Over the years they owned and operated a launder mat and a motel. After selling both businesses Esther was employed by the hot lunch program and through out the years she took care of foster children. Chris and Esther moved to Billings in July of 1984 after retiring to be closer to family. In November of 1989 they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Chris passed away in August of 1993 and Esther married Fred Gauthier in November of 1998. Esther enjoyed gardening, crocheting afghans, keeping records of family history and memorabilia. Esther believed in the Lord as her personal Savior all her life, and lived it accordingly. Survivors include, her husband Fred of Absorkee, five children and two step-sons: Jim (Evelyn) Huber, Killdeer, ND, Ben Huber, Billings, Ken (Barb) Huber Long Beach, CA, Marilyn (Bob) Celander, Seminole, TX, Charlotte (Vern) Schroeder, Crane, MT, Rodney (Marta) Gauthier, Absorkee, MT and Rory (Mindy) Gauthier, Helena, MT; three brothers, Rollie (Betty) Haar, Aberdeen, SD, Rev. Howard Haar, Mississippi, Clifton Seidel, IA; four sisters, Bernice (Carl) Wilder, Mesa, AZ, Marlene (Ernie) Steinbeck, Mesa, AZ, Martha Huber, Tuscan, AZ and Florence Gerth, Aberdeen, SD; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Chris, two sons, Arlie and Loren; three brothers, Emil, Oscar and Edward. We Love You Mom, God Bless!
