Esther passed away peacefully on March 3, 2015, at the Knife River Care Center, Beulah.
Esther was born and raised on the homestead north of Dunn Center, ND, on December 4, 1928, to Christop and Anna (Baisch) Stohler. She attended a country school through the eighth grade. On June 30, 1965, she married Pius Obrigewitch. Together they ranched west of Killdeer until Pius died due to a farm accident in 1979. Esther then moved to Dunn Center where she lived until September 2013 when she moved to Dickinson.
For many years, Esther bowled on several leagues in Killdeer. Her skill in bowling led
her on many trips for bowling tournaments. Esther enjoyed spending time outdoors,
especially fishing and hunting. She also loved playing cards and dice games with family and friends over the years.
Even though Esther had no children, she was very close to her nieces and nephews. She will always have a special place in their hearts.
Esther is survived by a sister-in-law, Lorene Stohler; nephews and nieces Barbara
Favorito (California), Ron Jenkins (Wyoming), Connie Stohler (Minnesota), Judy French (South Dakota), Patricia Wenko (Beulah), Cynthia Bradrick (Colorado), Carleen Hart (Minnesota), and Andrew Stohler (Fargo).
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pius; sisters, Carolyn Jenkins, Ann
Favorito, and Ruth Stohler; brother, Oscar Stohler; brother-in-law, Charles Favorito; and special friend, Alvin Luckow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sakakawea Home Health & Hospice in Beulah.
