Eugene Mesling

Eugene L. Mesling, 69, New England, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at his home. Funeral services will be 2 p. m. Friday, June 6, 2003, at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson. Interment will be at a later date in Havelock Cemetery, rural New England. Visitation will be held at Price-Murphy Funeral Home on Thursday 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. Visitation will continue at Price-Murphy Funeral Home on Friday from 9 a. m. to 2 p. m. Eugene Laverne Mesling was born June 1, 1934, to Joe and Ragna (Austin) Mesling in Havelock Township, ND. He graduated from New England High School in 1952 and started farming with his father in Havelock. Eugene married Betty Jean Horst, October 20, 1987, in Bismarck. He lived in Havelock Township all his life and was the Havelock Township Assessor. His life and hobby was farming. Eugene is survived by: his wife, Betty Jean; mother, Ragna, New England, ND; one sister, Carolyn (Leonard) Vizenor, Cass Lake, Minn. ; three children, Cherre (Mark) Allensworth, Lincoln, ND, Richard (Susan) Horst, Bismarck, ND, Perry Horst, Ariz. ; one sister-in-law, Rosemarie Thomas, Riverside, Calif. ; several cousins, including Larry Rafferty; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Joe Mesling.
