Eugene Thomas Moser was born December 21, 1942 in Norfolk, NE, a son of Joseph H. and Angela (Melcher) Moser. Gene grew up on the family farm at Humphrey, NE. He attended kindergarten through the twelfth grade at St. Francis Catholic School where he graduated in 1960. During his high school years, Gene played on the school basketball team. Following his graduation, Gene joined the United States Army. After completing boot camp at Fort Gordon, GA he served in active duty in Germany, France, Holland, Turkey and England. After three years and obtaining the rank of Sergeant, Gene was honorably discharged on November 11, 1963. Gene returned to Nebraska where he met Marie Franzluebbers. They were married in Dodge, NE in April 1967. In July of 1967, Marie passed away unexpectedly. Following the death of his wife, Gene moved to Baker, MT where his brother, Mel, was working in the oilfield. It was Baker where Gene would embark on his career in the oilfield, and would also fall in love with a local ranch girl. Gene and Winona Hall were married at St. John?s Catholic Church on August 10, 1968. They were blessed with five children and 44 years of marriage. Gene and Winona made their home in Baker where Gene worked for McCullough Wire Line Service until 1974. The Moser?s moved to Casper, WY when Gene and his brother, Jim, partnered in an oilfield service business. Gene eventually started his own Oil Field Service business which he operated until 1992. In 2011 Gene put down his hard hat and retired to fulltime operator of the Twin Creeks Ranch he and Winona put together in 2000 when they made Plevna their home.
