Funeral Services for Eunice Higgins, 79, of Baker will be held on 1:00 p. m. Monday, April 8, 2006 at 1:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker with Pastor Wallace Fox officiating. Burial will be in the Ryegate Cemetery in Ryegate, Montana. Arrangements are under the direction of the Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker, Montana. Eunice passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker following a long illness. Eunice Lillian Higgins was born on September 30, 1926, the daughter of Leonard and Inez (Orton) Kreager, in Baker, Montana. She grew up and attended schools in Baker and later in Terry, Montana. Eunice was married to Virgil Higgins on January 26, 1946 in Baker. To this union four children were born: Raymond, Loren, Clayton and Denise. Due to Virgil?s work with the railroad, they made eastern and central Montana their home for many years. For the most part, Ryegate was considered home. In 1972, Eunice and Virgil moved to Baker where she made her home since. She worked at Fallon Medical Complex in the laundry department for several years until she retired. Eunice took care of her mother until the time of her mother?s death. She was very active in RSVP, Senior Citizens, O?Fallon Museum and SMART. Eunice enjoyed transporting and helping her friends to and from doctors? appointments and meetings. She enjoyed traveling around the country, listening to music and dancing. Most of all, her love was for her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include, a son, Loren Higgins, Helena, MT; a daughter, Denise (Dan) Pierce, Ekalaka, MT; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Raymond and Clayton, a sister, Bernice Seifert, and three grandchildren.
