Funeral services for Eunice Scholkowfsky, 90, of Dickinson, ND will be 10 a. m. , Monday, October 19, 2009 at St. John?s Lutheran Church, Killdeer, ND with Pastor Joel Sauerwein officiating. Burial will follow in the Killdeer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p. m. to 5 p. m. , Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Killdeer, ND. Eunice passed away October 14, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in Dickinson, ND. Eunice Skare was born November 5, 1918 in Fertile, MN, the daughter of Carl and Alice (Lee) Skare. She was baptized November 28, 1918 and confirmed October 23, 1932 in the Ness Lutheran Church. She grew up on a farm near Gary. She attended school in Mahnomen and graduated with honors from Mahnomen High School before going on to college in Fargo, ND. While in Fargo, Eunice worked at the hospital as a dietician. ]On March 11, 1943 she married Edward (Eddy) Scholkowfsky in Moorhead, MN. After marriage they made their home near Dunn Center, ND until 1956 when she and Eddy moved into Killdeer. They belonged to the Farm Bureau Association and attended important congregressional meetings in Washington D. C. Ed also belonged to the Stockman?s Association where Eunice?s involvement included the cow bells and the Thimble Club. Edward passed away on November 20, 1977. In 1979 Eunice bought and moved into her house in Dickinson, ND. Eunice loved reading and gardening. She and Eddy were very active with the First Lutheran Church. Eunice was always a very charitable person. She was very giving of her time and money. She supported several entities in her community and even internationally. Eunice is survived by her sisters, Vivian Garden, Grass Valley, CA and Shirley Cooper, Broken Arrow, OK; a niece, Gretchen Garden Swinson and three nephews, Michael Garden, Terrance Cooper and Randy Cooper and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Edward. Family suggest memorials be made to St. John?s Lutheran Church Killdeer, ND
