Mass of Christian Burial for Eva Focht, 88, of Gladstone, ND, will be 10:00 a. m. , Friday, August 6, 2010, at St. Thomas Church in Gladstone with Father Boniface Muggli celebrating. Interment will follow at the St. Thomas Cemetery in Gladstone. Visitation will be from 12:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. , Thursday, August 5, 2010, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary at 6:00 p. m. Eva passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Richardton Health Center in Richardton, ND. Eva Focht was born to Frank and Veronica (Gotterbarm) Martin on September 21, 1921. She was raised and educated at Gladstone, graduating from Gladstone High School. Following graduation, she worked for the school district for a short time. On June 10, 1940, she married Ernest Focht and together they raised two sons. They purchased a farm west of Taylor and lived there for 65 years. Eva entered the Richardton Health Center in May of 2004 and remained there until her death. Eva belonged to the KC-ettes and was very active in the St. Thomas parish as a song leader for the choir and making strudel and soup for maintenance of the K of C Hall. She enjoyed children; for entertainment, they visited friends at home and in nursing homes, traveled and went to dances. Eva is survived by her sons, Eugene (Margaret) Focht, Hebron, ND, and Ronald (Doris) Focht, Billings, MT; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Marian Bleth, Veronica (Alfred) Dassinger, Delores (Ed) Lefor, all of Dickinson, ND, Marlene Moore, Worland, WY, Elaine (Bob) Burns, Yakima, WA, and Joyce (Allen) Kostelecky, Seattle, WA; sisters-in-law, Ethelyn Martin, Alvira Martin and Dorothy Auld and a brother-in-law, Allen Rust. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; four brothers, Frank, Peter, Anton, and LeRoy; four sisters, Dora Schummer, Margaret Haysom, Evelyn Sickler, and Josephine Rust; sister-in-law, Lena Martin and brothers-in-law, Frank Schummer, Ray Haysom, Andrew Sickler, John Bleth and Jesse Moore.
