A funeral Mass for Eva A. Jung, 91, of Mandan, ND, formerly of Dickinson, will be 10:30 a.m. CST, Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan with Fr. Chris Kadrmas celebrating. Burial will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation for Eva will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. CST, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan with a rosary and vigil service taking place at 5:00 p.m. CST.
Eva passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.
Eva A. Betchner was born March 23, 1926 in Gladstone, ND, the daughter of Nickolas and Katie (Bambusch) Betchner. She moved with her family to New England where she attended school; graduating from New England High School. It was during this time that she met Mike J. Jung. The couple was united in marriage on February 11, 1947 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Lefor. Eva and Mike were blessed with four children: Jeffrey, John, Joel and Joleen. Together, they made their home and raised their family in Dickinson. While living in Dickinson, Eva worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a CNA; retiring after 35 years of service. Eva made her home at Evergreen Senior Living Community for several years before spending her last few years in Mandan.
Eva loved spending time in her kitchen cooking for her family and friends, working on sewing projects and volunteering with various organizations. She enjoyed browsing through thrift stores, collecting cookbooks and dancing whenever she had the chance. Eva’s family meant the world to her and cherished the time spent with them.
Eva is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Candy) Jung of Bowman, and John (Janice) Jung of Mandan; daughter, Joleen (Joel) Obrigewitch of Surprise, AZ; daughter-in-law, Judy Jung of Bowman; brothers, John (Delores) Betchner of Milwaukee, WI, William Betchner of Surprise, AZ and Robert (Darlene) Betchner of Mandan; nine grandchildren, Mike, Brandon, Shawnell, Crystal, Alyssa, Paula, Lexi, Dave and Dallas; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Nickolas and Katie Betchner; husband, Mike Jung; son, Joel Jung; brothers, Joseph, Nick, George, Frank and twins Pete and John; sisters, Rose and Maggie; and granddaughter, Wendy Jung.Jung Eva
