Eva Mesling was born August 24, 1906, in Havelock, to Peter and Katy (Lisius) Mesling. She attended the Stecher school. Eva married Joe Schorsch February 22, 1927. They farmed in the Havelock area. In 1957, they moved into New England. Joe died February 22, 1977. She entered St. Luke?s Home on March 3, 1993. She was a member of the New England Senior Citizens and the First Congregational Church, New England. They were snowbirds to Texas and Arizona for ten years and enjoyed traveling, fishing and playing cards. She enjoyed baking and sharing with everyone. She was a generous and giving person who took great joy in her grandchildren. Eva is survived by: her daughters, Loraine (Richard) Selinger, Dickinson, Fran (John) Hanstad, Dickinson; one son, Floyd (Margaret) Schorsch, Bismarck; 24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ragna Mesling, New England; and two daughters-in-law, Maggie Schorsch, New England and Chris Schorsch, Brainerd, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; parents, two sons, Edwin and Don; four brothers, Adam (Helen), Pete (Eva), John (Annie) and Joe; three sisters, Katie (Pete) Degel, Anna (Bill) Thielman and Betty (Tony) Schorsch; one infant brother, Frank and one great grandson. Memorials are preferred to: St. Luke?s Home, 242 West 10th Street, Dickinson.
