Eva Scott

Funeral service for Eva Marie Scott, 15, of Halliday, ND, will be 10:00 a. m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Richardton High School Gym, Richardton, ND, with Pastor Tim Voth officiating. Burial will follow at the Kyseth Cemetery, Marshall, ND. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND. Visitation will continue from 5:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Living Word Fellowship Church, Dickinson, with a Prayer Service taking place at 7:00 p. m. Eva passed away Friday, August 19, 2011 at St. Joseph?s Hospital & Health Center in Dickinson. Eva Marie Scott was born May 7, 1996 in Hazen, North Dakota, the daughter of Lee and Lisa (Mohl) Scott. She grew up with her three sisters on her mother?s family farmstead, one mile west of Zap. Eva attended school at Beulah Elementary School. At the age of 10, Eva moved with her family to the ranch south of Halliday and this is where Eva called home for the rest of her life. Eva attended school in Richardton where she was a member of the A Honor Roll. Eva loved being around horses and began riding at the age of 3. She was a Tom Boy, wearing nothing frillier than a pair of jeans, boots and a belt buckle. Eva loved being outdoors and spent time jumping on the trampoline and working with her horses. Her favorite horses were Denny, Hightower, Dollar, Rip, Bert and Dynamite. Eva was very fond of the movie ?Hidalgo?, teaching her horses to imitate some of his tricks. In her free time, Eva enjoyed spending time beading and making jewelry. Eva was a straightforward and honest individual with a very strong and determined personality. This determination could be seen in her Rodeo career. Eva won numerous prizes, buckles and money. She was also a three-time Junior High Wrangler National Qualifier. Pole Bending was her favorite event. Eva also played Junior Varsity and Varsity Basketball for the Richardton-Taylor Raiders as a freshman. Eva is survived by her parents, Lee and Lisa Scott of Halliday; sisters, DeEtta (John) Richau of Bismarck, Sarah (Ross) Scott of Richardton and Charlee Scott of Halliday. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charles and Hertha Scott; maternal grandparents, Erhardt and Ruth Mohl and her God Father, Dale Scott. In lieu of flowers, Eva?s family suggests memorials to the North Dakota High School Rodeo Association.
