Eve passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020, surrounded by her family in Dickinson, after a short battle with cancer.
Eve was born July 12, 1955 to William and Ruth (Marsh) Erickson in Bozeman, MT. She spent part of her childhood in Helena and later moved to Havre where she graduated from Havre High School. She continued her education at MSU Northern where she graduated in 1978 with a degree in education. Eve began her teaching career in Turner, MT before moving to Shelby where she taught middle school English. In 1985, she married Howard Jacobson in Great Falls, MT. They continued to live in Shelby where Howard operated Jacobson’s Jewelry and Eve continued to teach. After teaching, Eve worked at the grain elevator and most recently with Leavitt Insurance Group. Eve had many passions and hobbies in life including reading, crocheting, scrapbooking, gardening and spending time with her dearest friends. One of her greatest joys was playing in the bell choir at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Faith was very important to Eve and this deep devotion supported her many times throughout her life. Eve spent much of her life in service to others and was very involved in her community and church. More than anything, she loved her family and time spent with them. She cherished the road trips out to North Dakota with Derek to visit Carla’s family. She especially adored her grandchildren and the many memories they made together. Apgar in Glacier National Park held a special place in Eve’s heart, this love began in childhood and she continued to share this love with her own children. Eve was a strong and genuine person, she was quite witty, but always kind. Although her life was cut short, it was still full. She will be missed and remembered by many.
Eve is survived by her daughter, Carla (Daniel) Duletski of Dickinson; son, Derek Jacobson of Great Falls, MT; grandchildren, Reese, Jed and Kate Duletski; sister, Ellen (Jim) White; sisters-in-law, Natasha Morton, Sandra Jacobson; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard (2001); parents, William and Ruth Erickson; twin brother, Eric Erickson.
The family suggests memorials be given to Shelby Public Library in Eve’s name.
