Evelyn Fischer, age 85, of Glen Ullin died Wednesday, October 04, 2006 at the Marian Manor Health Care Center in Glen Ullin. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Central Time on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with the Rev. Sebastian Schmidt OSB, as Celebrant. Visitation will begin on Friday, after 4:00 PM at the church with the Vigil services at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Evelyn was born September 20, 1921, at Stayton, Oregon the daughter of Marcelinus and Elizabeth (Bollinger) Ruscheinsky. In 1929 the family moved to a farm near Brisbane, ND where Evelyn grew up and was educated. She worked on the farm until her marriage to Joseph Fischer on January 2, 1946. Following marriage they lived a number of places as Joe worked construction. In the mid 1950?s they moved to Glen Ullin when Joe took a job with Frank Doll. Evelyn took care of the household. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, knitting, reading, and playing cards, but her real fun was going fishing. Evelyn and Joe loved to fish in tournaments; she earned a Whopper Walleye Patch for her 11 pound Walleye she once caught. Evelyn was a member of the Sacred Heart Christian Mothers. She is survived by her daughter: Carol (Mike) Hoerauf, Glen Ullin, ND; Her sons: John (Bonnie), Bismarck, ND; and Jim (Connie), Wenatchee, WA, six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and one brother: Frank Ruscheinsky, Portland, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Joe, July 14, 1991, one grandson, Brad, five brothers: Pete, Joe, Ralph, Emanuel, Johnny, and two sisters: Kay and Amelia.
