A Funeral Mass for Evelyn Gawryluk, 70, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation for Evelyn will be 12:00 p. m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 22nd at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 7:00 p.m.
Evelyn passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.
Evelyn was born September 26, 1942 in Dickinson, the daughter of Jack and Katherine (Herauf) Frank. She was raised and educated in Dickinson. Evelyn began working at Don’s Café and later at Sandy Music Company for several years. On November 12, 1960, Evelyn was united in marriage to Joseph Gawryluk at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church in Belfield. To this union, two children, Thomas and Brenda were born. The couple lived in Medora, later moving to Dickinson where they raised their children and made their home. Evelyn was a housemaid and she enjoyed gardening and cooking. She cooked for the Singles Club at St. Anthony’s for many years. She hosted an annual 4th of July picnic for her family and friends at her home. Evelyn will also be remembered for the annual Ukrainian supper she prepared on Christmas Eve for the entire family. In her younger years, Evelyn enjoyed softball, bowling, driving her 66’ Chevy Impala and camping with the family. Evelyn was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and St. Anthony’s Club.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Thomas Gawryluk of Dickinson, daughter, Brenda Markley of Gillette, WY; grandchildren, Ryan and Dylan; brothers, Richard (Jennie) Frank of Farmington, MN, Ben Frank, Leroy Frank and Victor (Linda) Frank all of Dickinson; sisters, Kathleen (Pete) Ebner of Mott and Laverne Frank of Dickinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joseph.
