Funeral Services for Evelyn A. Meschke, 73 of Dickinson will be 2:00 p. m. Friday, February 4, 2005 at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson. Burial will follow in the Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 3, 2005 from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. , continuing on Friday from 9:00 a. m. to one hour prior to service at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Evelyn passed away Monday, January 31, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson. Evelyn A. Meschke was born March 19, 1931 at New Salem, ND, the daughter of Raymond Frank and Anna Marie (Bock) Henry. She grew up and attended schools in New Salem. As a young woman, she began working as a waitress in the Binek?s Caf?. In 1962, the family purchased Binek?s and it was later renamed Sims Caf?. They operated it until 1975 when it was sold. Evelyn moved to Riverton, WY where she worked for the C. R. Anthony Department Store. While there, she received numerous awards in the sales department. Due to failing health, she retired and moved back to Dickinson where she has made her home since. She enjoyed playing bingo, her dachshund dogs and especially loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the St. Anthony?s Club and enjoyed playing in the card club. Survivors include a son, Dennis (Linda) Meschke, Dickinson; a daughter, Diane Alexander (Jerry Decker), Dickinson; a sister, Anne Hoesel, Mandan; two grandchildren: Scott (Tammy) Meschke, Dickinson and Carri Wright, Dickinson; three step-grandchildren: Tara (Will) Wegh, Hudson, Ohio, Cristee Wagner, Kansas City, MO and Brooke Wagner, San Diego, CA; two great-grandchildren: Jaiden Wright and Matthew Meschke; two step-great-grandchildren: Asia and Isaiah Wegh and four special friends: Marlene Schopp, Rose Ostoj, Kathy (Locket) Bastian and Mary Kerner and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Henry and three sisters: Margaret Bertek, Gertrude Henry and Selma Hoesel.
