She was fond of animals, especially her dog “Puggie”. Jody was the Granddaughter of Ekalaka, therefore proudly rode in the Ekalaka summer festival parade. She was a descendant of Sitting Bull, the granddaughter of the American Indian woman for whom Ekalaka, MT is named. She was quoted, “I am a one-fourth Sioux and so proud of it. To think I’m Indian! We as a people are getting sparse. ” Jody had a happy childhood with her family who sold pine locally to area ranchers who built barns and homes. Jody is survived by her daughter, Rosie “Cookie” of Vernal, UT; and two grandsons, Aaron (Michelle) Scoles of Billings, MT; Richard (Kelley) Scoles of Billings, MT; two granddaughters Beth (Tony) Munari of Billings, MT; and Mary (Anthony) Gallegos of Thorton, CO and numerous great-grandchildren.
