Funeral Services for Evelyn Rice, 75, of Taylor, ND will be 10:00 a. m. , Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Taylor Lutheran Church, Taylor, ND with Pastor Bob Wittstruck officiating. Burial will be in the Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Cemetery, New England, ND. Visitation will be from 12:00 p. m. ? 9:00 p. m. , Friday, December 4, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND. Evelyn passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson, ND from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Evelyn M. (Lenhardt) Rice was born May 9, 1934 to Peter and Anna (Brown) Lenhardt in Dickinson, ND. She grew up in New England, ND where she attended St. Mary?s School. She married Leroy Schwartz in June 1951 in New England, ND. To this union three children were born, Debbie, Ronnie and Terry. The couple farmed south of New England until Leroy?s death in 1962. In 1966, Evelyn married Robert Erickson in New England. To this union their son Darrin was born. Robert passed away in July 1969. The family continued to make their home in New England. Through mutual friends, she met Gerald ?Jerry? Rice and they later married in June 1978. The couple made their home in Taylor, ND and have resided there since. Evelyn loved to read and listen to Classic Country Music. She had an extensive collection of LP?s. Evelyn also enjoyed cheering on her beloved Minnesota Vikings. She was an amazing baker and cook. She had many requests from her family for her famous pies and caramel rolls. She was an animal lover and took great care of her cats. Evelyn?s greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Gerald, Taylor, ND; daughter, Debbie (fianc?, Monte Frey) Dannenfelzer, Hettinger, ND; son, Darrin (Sue) Erickson, Bismarck, ND; step son, Jeff(LaVerne) Rice; grandchildren, Shawn (Lori) Frank, Jeff (Kim) Frank, Tiffany (Chris) Held, Jason Schwartz, Danielle Erickson, Marissa Faller, Derek Faller, Amanda Rice; great-grandchildren, Nixxen Held, Jaron Frank, Kayla Honeyman, Sarah Howe, Carson Held, Riley Held and Justice Anderson. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Leroy Schwartz; second husband, Bob Erickson and sons, Terry and Ronnie.
