Evelyn Uecker, 83, Dickinson, died October 5, 2003, at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Funeral services will be 2 p. m. Wednesday, at the chapel at St. Luke’s Home with Pastor Pat Higgins officiating. Interment will be in Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a. m. to noon at Price-Murphy Funeral Home and will continue at l:00 p. m. at St. Luke’s Home. Evelyn was born February 18, 1920, in Dickinson, to Fred and Ida (Goerke) Uecker. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed. After graduation from Dickinson Central High School, she worked at Service Drug and Green Drug. Evelyn also worked at Liberty National Bank for over 30 years. She enjoyed driving her car, traveling to the Black Hills and Medora, and visiting her sister, Adeline, her nieces, nephews and friends. In her younger years, Evelyn enjoyed doing intricate knitting, crossword puzzles and reading The Dickinson Press. Prior to entering St. Luke?s, she lived at Evergreen Inn. However, most of her life was lived with her sister Esther, who was her lifelong companion and friend. Evelyn is survived by: a sister-in-law, Margaret Uecker of Yakima, Wash. ; 14 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her twin sister, Adeline Uecker Koenig; her sister, Esther Uecker and three brothers, Herbert, Arnold and Ted Uecker.
