Funeral services for E. D. Everett D. Haunson, 86, of Bismarck, formerly of Dickinson, ND are 1 p. m. CT, Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Bismarck, ND with Pastor Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Burial will follow at the North Dakota Veteran?s cemetery in Mandan at 3 p. m. Visitation will be 9 ? 2 pm, MDT, Sunday at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, continuing on Monday from 1 ? 9 pm at Eastgate Funeral Home in Bismarck, ND and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck, ND. Everett passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008 in rural Belfield, ND. Everett David Haunson was born February 9, 1922 in Breckenridge, MN the son of Percival and Augusta (Hansen) Haunson. He resided in various towns in Minnesota which included St. Paul and Minneapolis areas. Everett moved to Escanaba, Michigan where they lived for many years. He resided with his uncle Joe and Aunt Mabel Hansen during high school in Crookston, MN graduating in 1938. Everett began work as a mechanic for Great Northern Railroad until enlisting in the service. In 1942 Everett enlisted into the US Air Force which he served as a radio operator during WW II. He reached the grade of Sargeant before being honorably discharged on Dec. 7, 1945. Everett began college at Hamline University in St. Paul for his undergraduate studies. He continued his studies at Northwestern Chiropractic College in Minneapolis during which time he met and married Arlene Wyffels. After graduation they moved to Dickinson, ND where they established his practice and raised their four daughters. In 1986, they moved to Bismarck where Arlene continued her work as Administrative Assistant to Quentin Burdick. Everett was in practice at the Bismarck Chiropractic Clinic. After his retirement he volunteered his services along with his good friend, Dr. Herb Wilson and other health care professionals at the Selfridge Health Station. ?Mathew 25:40, And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. ? He will be missed by many friends and neighbors Everett was an active member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the Elks Lodge, Democratic Party, International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians, Sons of Norway, VFW Breakfast Club, God?s Child Project and Astronomy Club. He was an avid sailor, outdoorsman, craftsman and loved adventure. Everett was dedicated to his profession and to his family. Survivors include, his four daughters, Mary Haunson, Bismarck, ND; Nancy (Perry) Emch, Belfield, ND, Laurie (J. P. ) Ruzicka, Omaha, NE and Jennifer (AL) Schaeffer, Amidon, ND; nine grandchildren, Peter (Aubrey) Zuger, Jack Zuger, Paul (Krisanne) Emch, James Emch, Shawna Ruzicka, Cory Ruzicka, Clay Schaeffer, Kate Schaeffer and Colton Schaeffer; a great grandson, Aidan ZugerHe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Arlene; and a sister, Geraldine Bourgerie
