Mass of Christian Burial for Everett C. Myhre, 88, of Baker, MT will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008 at St. John?s Catholic Church in Baker with the Rev. Father Thomas Tobin celebrating. Rite of Committal will follow in the Family lot in St. John?s Cemetery at Baker. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 26th at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., Visitation will continue on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Everett passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker, MT. Everett Clinton Myhre was born on December 28, 1919 near the family farm south of Baker, the son of Odin and Olene (Braseth) Myhre. He grew up and attended the Myhre School in the 101 area south of Baker later graduating from the Baker High School ion 1939. Everett began farming and ranching before moving into Baker where he partnered with Elmer Newell in the C & E Repair where Everett worked as a mechanic. He was married to Rose Ann O?Donnell on June 3, 1950. Together they lived and raised their family in Baker. After getting married, Everett worked for International Harvester before going to work for Montana Dakota Utilities on March 27, 1967, where he worked for 17 years, retiring on December 31, 1984. After his retirement Everett and Rose continued to make Baker their home. He enjoyed baseball, especially the Twins and the Braves. Everett was always interested in his grandchildren?s sports and activities and enjoyed going to their events. He was always willing to help mechanic for all of his family and friends. His motto was, He did not need to be paid to help, but in turn you need to help someone else. Everett was very proud of the Democratic Party and always thought that it should have been the only one. He even went as far as dressing up as Uncle Sam and led a donkey down the annual parade route in Baker. Everett was a faithful member of St. John?s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Charter Member and a 4th Degree member. He was also a member of the IBEW Union. Survivors include, his wife, Rose of Baker; a daughter, Mary Alice (Doug) Havens, Baker; two sons, Odin (Susan) Myhre, Hunnington Beach, CA and Paul (Sandy) Myhre, Sealy, TX; three sisters, Irene Hansen, Cresbard, SD, Ruth (Harvey) Nichols, Baker and Laurel (Ron) Heaton, WA; a brother, Duane (Kathy) Myhre, WA.; a sister-in-law, Joyce Swanson, WA; eight grandchildren, Grant (Lisa) Havens, Holly (Chris) Hutton, Rebecca Rose Havens, Michael (Bekah) Myhre, Luke Myhre, Mark Myhre, Anthony Myhre and Joshua Carlson; six great-grandchildren, Kolton, Kaden, Tyler, Travis, Hunter and Drew. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Iva; an infant daughter, Irene; two sisters, Alice Newell and Myrtle Myhre; three brothers, Curtis, Maurice and Rodger Myhre. A memorial has been established for either the Baker High School Scholarship Fund or the Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund. Arrangements are under the care of Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker, MT.
